"Lego City" is inspired by the densely built neighborhoods of Rio de Janeiro – where houses are stacked on top of each other in layers of color, form, and life.

It wasn't the stories of the place that first captivated David, but the structure. The compact architecture, the rhythm of repetition, and how each building seemed to carry its own story – while also being part of something larger.

The resemblance to colorful Lego bricks became the starting point for both the expression and the name of the work. But behind the playfulness lies an exploration of how people create order and home even in the most complex environments.

"Lego City" moves between the monumental and the human – a city built of small units that together form a whole.

The mockup shows 70x100 cm.

I have an autistic son who was born the year this art was created. It's a daily reminder of how beautiful his brain is and symbolizes the magic it's able to create. It's my favorite piece of artwork in my home.
